[A Grand Prix GTO for looking]. This Saturday our church is going fishing with some members of the community. The youth group is going, which I help with. I’m going as a chaperone for either a teen who’s dads are too busy to come, or a teen whose dad isn’t in the picture at all; not sure who I’ll be paired up with yet. Nervous and excited at the same time. But it’s going to be fun.

Also of note, I got a unexpected compliment. One of the other youth workers (out of two others) told me that I’m pretty down to earth and friendly, and not overly preachy. Which was really nice to hear, since I like being the friendly guy and I can get along with just about anyone.

Actually, I can think of only one guy I didn’t get along with, because for some reason he didn’t want to get along with anyone. Also, bad mouthing someone 5' away is a horrible game plan. Foresight was not his specialty.

Anyways, I’m excited for this weekend. I have a gut feeling I’ll be baiting the hook more than actually fishing, but that’s ok. My goal is to establish a friendship with the teens anyways.

Actually, if the teens act up, I’ll just act obnoxious to them. Teens hate that. And I thoroughly enjoy it.

Also, last night we discovered the teens listen to me shouting “everyone quiet now”. I apparently inherited my father’s loud voice, lol.

I was in Orlando for a Convention while another convention for Teens doing photography was also going on. It had been going on before mine started.

I was at an Irish pub waiting on my folks to arrive. A lady with a School Tshirt IDing her as an ‘adult’ or ‘parent’ for the group sat down a few stools from me. She ordered 2 shots of Tequila and paid in cash.

She downed both shots. Heavily sighed and walked out.

Me and and the bartender both started laughing when she was outta earshot.

Yeah, I’m expecting the teens to be a hassle. I know for a fact that once my daughter hits her teens, shes gonna be difficult. I’ve known this since before she was born and have been mentally preparing for it.

I think expecting teens to be a hassle is half the battle.

Good luck! But that’s a 65 GTO. Notice the front tag says 65 Goat.

That is amazing. Will have to purchase one once my daughter starts dating.

Fixed. Though in my defense, I GIS for “Grand Prix”. So I purely blame Google. And now I have something to research while debugging code today.

Awesome! Here’s a Hot Rod article of a 62 Grand Prix.

Check out this 66 Catalina with the 421 and 8 lug wheels.

Time to ingrain your love of cars into impressionable youths without a father figure!

Also one of these, which they had at my local Cabela’s for the bargain price of $16,000 (though that is a big punch for that price) -

Inform the kid that you only need one shot, and that you never miss (the M99 is a single shot, .50cal, if you didn’t already know that)

I was thinking the same thing. There was one kid I tried to talk cars to. I was giving him facts and figures of my ‘07 Grand Prix. He went on to bragabout his friends truck/suv (I forget which), and how it was really amazing , and so on. I had a gut feeling he might of been exaggerating some of his stories , but I didn’t stop him. What did stop him was when I asked about the car itself. He remembered the stories more than the car itself, lol.

I’ve been mentally preparing her dating stage for a while now. I want to get good at throwing knives, and throw them in front of the kid.

Also, I have no issue with being a third wheel on her dates. I mean, if she’s ever going to get married to him, he has to be able to put up with me. I’m not going away, lol.

You are welcome! That Catalina went through a lot. It was carried a quarter mile by flood waters. Interesting fact in the story the 2 door post Catalinas are 121 lbs lighter than the 2 door hardtop ones.
